All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE)The government has envisaged to conduct a common entrance examination on an all India basis for admission to professional and technical colleges in India. For admission to Engineering and Architecture/Planning courses, the Government of India has laid down a Three – Exam Scheme (JEE and AIEEE at the National Level and the State Level Engineering Entrance Examinations (SLEEE) for State Level Institutions – with an option to join AIEEE). This is to takes care of varying admission standards and to help maintain professional standards. This also solves problems of overlaps and reduces physical, mental and financial burden on students and their parents due to multiplicity of entrance examinations.
Scheme of ExaminationEntrance examination consists of two papers with objective type questions and a third paper – Aptitude Test for Architecture and Planning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidate’s perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness. The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) has come up with some variations in examination module. It has modified marking scheme, the paper pattern, as well as quota for distribution of Seats. There has been a reservation of 27 % for Other Backward Classes. This will cause a change in the number of seats in NIT(National Institute of Technology). The seats for general will remain unchanged. No deduction is made if no response is indicated on the answer sheet. It is therefore better not to attempt an answer if you are not sure of the correct answer. Also be carefull in marking your answers as multiple markings are considered as incorrect response and are negatively marked as all objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets. Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only. |
